Region 9 Forecast : Upper Midwest | November 2015 – October 2016

SUMMARY: Winter will be much colder than normal, on average, with above-normal precipitation. Snowfall will be near normal in most of the region but above normal in the east. Very cold weather will predominate from late December through early February, with the snowiest periods in late November, late January, and mid-March.

April and May will be slightly warmer and wetter than normal.

Summer will be hotter and drier than normal. The hottest periods will occur in late June and early and late August.

September and October will be much warmer and slightly rainier than normal in the east and rainier than normal, with near-normal temperatures, in the west.
